And the WW... due out June

Pirate Girl by Cornelia Funke illus by Kerstin Meyer In which small Molly is kidnapped from her ship by the Horrible Haddocks. They laugh at her defiance, but not for long... her messages in bottles bring help in the form of her mother, Barbarous Bertha. PW says it "[hints] at a fierce mother-daughter bond." Plus, Cornelia Funke is cool.

Ok, ending my geeky madness now.

I hope WW still likes some picture books.

That sorta reminds me of the family for whom I nannied when I was in 9th grade.....this was 1981, so computers and video games were still super new....the mom, who was a psychologist, was developing a line of computer games with female main characters who were not damsels in distress because there was NOTHING on the market for girls. She had a pirate one, a jungle one, and I think possibly something American Historyish......
