OK, help me out a little here... what did you like about them? "Fun" is not too helpful in finding similar books.

So far, I notice two mentions of characters, two of story, and three of character. Starmaker sounds like it might also have some writing elements going on, though that's just a guess. And, though you didn't mention story for Watchmen, superheroes sound to me like the story is probably important too.
